June 1, 2024
AYR is a proud sponsor of the 1990 Institute‘s second 2024 teachers workshop, “U.S.-China Relations: Untangling Campaign Rhetoric & Understanding Policy“!
This workshop is designed to meet the needs of middle and high school educators who wish to deepen their understanding of US-China relations, distinguish between political rhetoric and actual policies, and integrate this knowledge into their teaching. Attendees will enhance their ability to promote critical thinking, understand policy implications, expand their knowledge of U.S.-China relations, and build media literacy. The workshop is open to middle and high school teachers, as well as all lifelong learners. This is an important subject not only during the election cycle but also to understand from a global perspective.
There will be many speakers, including Neysun A. Mahboubi, Director of the Penn Project on the Future of U.S.-China Relations at the University of Pennsylvania, and Susan A. Thornton, a seasoned diplomat and senior fellow at the Paul Tsai China Center at Yale University. Hua-Yu Sebastian Cherng, Vice Dean for Research and Equity at NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development will be moderating the workshop.
This virtual workshop will take place on June 20 at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET. Register for the teachers workshop here. We’ll see you there!
