One Day of AAPI History Lesson

One Day of AAPI History Lesson by the AAPI Youth Rising Team. Videographer: Ralph Gamboa. Editor + Graphics: Olivia Chang

Asian American history is American history. While we join legislative efforts in support of AAPI history mandates and ethnic studies mandates, we are making a difference right now.

We developed a short lesson about the untold histories of Asians in America. Our Chapter Leaders volunteer to teach the ONE DAY OF AAPI HISTORY lesson to classrooms across America. We have personally taught thousands of students Stream our lesson on YouTube here! Sign up here for a teach-in by the AYR team. Read about our lesson at Teach for America.

The AYR ONE DAY OF AAPI HISTORY Lesson campaign will reach 54,000 districts, schools, and out-of-school sites through a partnership with Alliance for a Healthier Generation in 2023.

A huge shout out to the educators who inspired us and mentored us: Dr. Eujin Park, Ms. Southey Kulkarni, and Ms. Carwai Seto. Also to Dr. Russell Jeung and Kate Lee.

We’d like to hear your feedback. Please fill out this quick survey and let us know your thoughts.

Feel free to reach out to our school project director Ethan at ethan@aapiyouthrising.org for addition info about our lesson!
