Congratulations to Jaslene and Ethan for participating in the teacher workshop, “Asian American Trailblazers in Civil Rights”! We gave speeches and testimonies, later reaching out to the 70+ teachers about the AYR lesson plan. We are honored to meet and listen to the speeches of amazing members of the AAPI community, including Sandra Pan, Susana Liu-Hedberg, David Lei, Liana Szeto, and Russell Jeung. We also heard Liana Szeto and Dr. Laureen Chew speeches in support of ethnic studies. Shout-out to the 1990 Institute‘s Ms. Pan and Ms. Liu-Hedberg for organizing and Alice Fong Yu Alternative School for hosting this wonderful event!
