On October 26, 2024, Mina Fedor and Charlee Trenkle attended the OCA (Organization of Chinese Americans) San Mateo 2024 Asian American Achievement Awards. AAPI Youth Rising was awarded a Certificate of Recognition from the California State Senate for the 2024 Community Partner Award with OCA San Mateo. The event was held to honor four honorees: David Mineta, Abigail Hing Wen, Connie Young Yu, and Russell Jeung.
All the honorees had great fireside chats where they discussed their projects, their lives, and their impacts on the AAPI community. Mina Fedor introduced honoree Russell Jeung with her brilliant, personal, and heartfelt speech which was received quite well by the audience. Charlee and Mina also got to chat with some incredible people such as the president of OCA San Mateo Aimee Yan and eat a lot of delicious food. AAPI Youth Rising thanks OCA San Mateo for the invitation and honor.
