About David

David Siu

Hi, I’m David Siu! I am a sophomore at Campolindo High School and currently serve as the Legislative Action Lead for AAPI Youth Rising. In this role, I work to advance initiatives that align with AAPI Youth Rising’s mission of empowering young people and building a more inclusive future. I believe that legislative advocacy is one of the most powerful tools for creating lasting change, and I am deeply committed to amplifying youth voices in critical conversations on equity, justice, and representation.

Through my work with AAPI Youth Rising, I have contributed to the organization’s advocacy efforts by writing Op-Ed pieces and blog posts that challenge harmful stereotypes and highlight issues affecting the AAPI community. I also had the opportunity to lead and present an educational workshop at UC Berkeley focused on AAPI identity and racial discrimination, which gave me the opportunity to educate others as well as learn myself.

I know it is especially important for youth to get involved in this fight because they are the future. I live by my motto of “Build what you believe in”, as an active environmental activist with my organization The Project Earth Team I develop strategies and campaigns that inspire sustainable change. Additionally, I am the Executive Director and founder of Music for Contra Costa, an initiative that combines my passion for music with community service by providing free performances and resources to underserved groups. In my free time, I love playing the violin, parliamentary debate, and traveling with his family.
Looking ahead, I aim to continue using my voice and leadership to advance equity, elevate underrepresented narratives, and empower the next generation to step into advocacy. You can find out more about me on my LinkedIn.
