To celebrate Pride Month, here are a few AAPI queer activists to celebrate! Geena Rocero, Helen Zia, Dan Choi, and Mark Tanako. We celebrate our differences and our identities. We should feel safe in being ourselves without being bullied. This is what makes us unique! 🏳️🌈 happy pride month!

To close out AAPI Heritage Month, we want to thank those who have inspired us, led us and taught us this year. There is no way we would be here without you! And especially with everything that’s going on this past week in schools and our communities across America, it means even more to celebrate other students.
First up, we are inspired by student groups all fighting for change in our communities. These youth are taking action both big and small.
We are also honored to have the support from everyone on our Organizations Inspirational List. Each of these groups has guided us in so many ways – from anti-bullying resources to mental health tips, to advice about our educational futures, to celebrating our cultures, we thank you!
We celebrate so many other individuals and groups who have helped us this year too! If you want to tag someone please do!

Join our IG LIVE on 5/26 when @mina.fedor and Diversify Our Narrative’s @binakanorris discuss the importance of learning about our AAPI histories, the need for AAPI inclusive curriculum and more.
We are super excited to speak about our ONE DAY OF AAPI HISTORY and also to learn about DON'S latest project @k12aanhpi_project!
AAPI Youth Rising met @diversifyournarrative last year right after we formed our group. When we reached out – turns out that they were actually at our rally and we didn’t even know it!
Since then they have given us so much advice and we have learned so much from them. We continue to be inspired by all their work – including spearheading student coalitions in support of diverse histories in CA and beyond.
So check out their @k12aanhpi_project! Excited to meet up again.

AAPI Youth Rising is so excited to announce the launch of our ONE DAY OF AAPI HISTORY Lesson!
Asian American history is American history. As youth, we believe it’s essential for all youth to learn about the untold stories of Asians in America.
After our AAPI Youth Rising rally, we wrote our ONE/180 pledge in support
of at least one day of AAPI History during the school year.
Now we are proud to launch our ONE DAY OF AAPI HISTORY Lesson that we are volunteering to bring into your classrooms and groups!
The ONE DAY OF AAPI HISTORY Lesson discusses:
• Why is it important to learn AAPI History?
• A few key moments of the history of Asians in America
• Stories of AAPI civil rights heroes and modern heroes
• What do we you with this knowledge?
email aapiyouthrising@gmail.com for more information!
