The groups below spoke at our AAPI Youth Rising Rally held on March 28, 2021, where over 1200+ people showed up in support of the AAPI community. Thank you for sharing your inspirational messages with us all.


Act To Change is rallying the nation — including cities and states, community organizations, and influencers, community leaders and elected officials — to commemorate the fourth Annual National Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Day Against Bullying + Hate on May 18, 2022. AAPI Youth Rising is a Partner Group this year and Mina Fedor is honored to be selected as a recipient of the Changemaker of the Year Award dedicated to the AAPI Youth Rising Team.

Act To Change

Act To Change is a nationwide anti-bullying group that has focused on anti-AAPI sentiment, specifically for middle schoolers.

Compassion in Oakland

Compassion in Oakland is a group that protects elders who are afraid for their safety when they go out.

The founders of Compassion in Oakland helped us march to the SF Bay Pedestrian Footbridge.

AYPAL

AYPAL is an organization that is trying to empower Oakland’s low-income Asian & Pacific Islander immigrant and refugee families.

Executive Director Stanley Pun shared about the history of AAPI racism in this country.

#HateIsAVirus

#HateIsAVirus is a nonprofit group that exists to dismantle racism and hate, specifically against Asian American Pacific Islanders.

Annie Wang shared a message with all of us and encouraged youth to speak up.

Beyond Differences

Beyond Differences is a student led organization that is trying to end social isolation and create a culture of belonging for everyone.

Teen board members Harita and Zhi shared their personal stories.

Akonadi Foundation

Akonadi Foundation works towards a racially just Oakland and ending the criminalization of Black Youth and Youth of Color in Oakland.

Lateefah Simon, the youngest woman to win the MacArthur “Genius” Grant, asked everyone to “listen to the youth who are leading the calvary”.
